The Delights and Dangesr of Jägerbombs

By

Jägerbombs have become an extremely popular cocktail that many people, like myself, drink while at parties, bars, and clubs. While seasoned veterans know not to down to many of these, many newcomers aren't aware of the effects Jägerbombs can have on you.

Firstly, a Jägerbomb is a combination of Jägermeister and an energy drink, usually Red Bull. Jägermeister itself is a German drink that includes alcohol, cane sugar, beet sugar, herbs, and spices. It was originally developed for medicinal purposes and was used as an anesthetic in World War II. It is now used at bars and clubs to make the Jägerbomb.

A Jägerbomb is made by pouring 125 ml of Red Bull into a pint glass. You then put a shot glass of Jägermeister into the pint glass. Alternatively, people pour equal amounts of Red Bull and Jägermeister into a pub glass.

I personally love Jägerbombs. Once you combine the Jägermeister and the Red Bull, the foul taste of the Jägermeister is masked and you're left with a very tasty drink. It's a very fun drink that gets everyone going and is greatly liked.

Despite my praise, Jägerbombs must be drank in moderation. They can have serious side effects if you drink too many. Besides alcohol poisoning, Jägerbombs offer different dangers then your average drinks.

The greatest danger that Jägerbombs pose is how they mask intoxication. The caffeine in the energy drink overpowers the alcohol and causes the drinker to feel less drunk then they are. Because of this masquerade, the drinker is more likely to keep drinking, and if they keep drinking Jägerbombs, they won't feel as drunk as they actually are. This can lead to alcohol poisoning and other extremely dangerous possibilities.

People are also more likely to make mistakes due to the fact they can't feel their intoxication. They may think they're sober enough to drive, when they most certainly are not. Drinkers are more likely to put themselves in dangerous situations if they've been drinking Jägerbombs.

The combination of an upper and a downer has severe effects on the body. Jägerbombs cause the body to become very dehydrated and an extremely rapid heartbeat. The dehydration causes the body's defences to weaken. The rapid heartbeat can lead to heart attacks and other extremely dangerous cardiac conditions.

I hope this brief article has given you an idea of the effects of Jägerbombs. I'm not trying to completely turn you off from them, I just think it's important that people are aware of their dangers. If, like me, you enjoy drinking them, I would recommend knowing your limit and not drinking too many.
